In recognition of Hunger Awareness Month in June, the Hays County Area Food Bank will hold a benefit car wash at Conley Car Wash and Detail, 1200 Thorpe Lane. The car wash fundraiser will take place on Saturday, June 7, from 8 AM – 6 PM.

A portion of the proceeds from the car washes will go to the Food Bank. In addition, Food Bank volunteers will be on hand to accept donations of non-perishable foods and money. They will be selling popcorn and drinks all day, and breakfast tacos from 8-10 AM.

In the event of rain, the event will be rescheduled for June 14.

To participate in Hunger Awareness Month, call 392-8300 or visit the Food Bank’s website at www.haysfoodbank.org. The website contains information about local events, how to coordinate a food drive, get help, volunteer or make a donation online.
