Stan Harlan and Paula Stiles will be performing a free concert at the San Marcos Public Library on Wednesday, September 17 at 7:00 p.m. They will sing a combination of popular fun songs as well as serious ballads.

Stan and Paula have been performing together for almost two years in and around the San Marcos area. Their style is eclectic: songs from the fifties and sixties as well as recent folk, country and soft rock. They have recently recorded a CD together, No One But You, to be released about the time of the concert, recorded at Troubadour Studio in Lockhart, Texas and mastered by Dave Teichroeb in Vancouver, British Columbia. They enjoy playing at a small club, watching people dance, but often perform in a quiet concert setting such as the San Marcos Public Library.

Stan Harlan is a singer-songwriter who lives and works in San Marcos. Stan is most often called a folk singer, but sings country folk as well as blues. He has recorded a single CD, produced by Dave Teichroeb, at Peach Tree Studio in San Marcos. He is known for passionate and personal songwriting, and says he sees songwriting as a way of relating stories about the different meanings experienced in life.

Paula Stiles began performing publicly last year with Stan. She enjoys singing a variety of styles, from Motown to Townes Van Zandt and says that music brings sheer enjoyment and fun to her life. Her friends have always enjoyed her music, but she has found a new audience as she hones her craft as a performing vocalist and songwriter. Stan and Paula look forward to sharing their music in the family-friendly setting of the public library.
