Sustainable San Marcos - more recycling

Welcome to Bulletin #7 from Sustainable San Marcos.

MORE RECYCLING: Monday evening’s City Council meeting is the 1st reading for Single Stream Recycling. Here is what the Mayor and City Council will be voting on Monday, October 6:

Agenda item #23: Consider an ordinance increasing the rate for once per week collection of residential solid waste and recyclable materials from $13.98 per month to $15.75 per month effective upon the commencement of single stream residential recycling by Texas Disposal Systems; including procedural provisions; and providing an effective date; and consider ordinance on the first of three readings; and discuss and provide direction to staff concerning amendments to the residential solid waste collection contract with Texas Disposal Systems.

Sustainable San Marcos supports this ordinance. Please let the Mayor and City Council know you support this ordinance, too, by:

Please note, the City Council has rescheduled its first October meeting to Monday, October 6 so that Council Members, staff and the public may participate in the 25th annual Texas Night Out Against Crime on Tuesday, October 7.
